Ok, this cat did not wish to go on Facebook. Not my style - more for a different set. I looked at Eons - and joined. This one is very funny. I think I'll tell my folks, sibs, etc. about it. Maybe they will join me there????
I also joined LinkedIn after being invited. This one looks like a good site for "professional development" (stretch, yawn).
I don't know how much I'll get to these sites, between napping, eating, stretching, and general running amok - the usual "kitty-type" daily activities. But I do want to browse Eons more - such fun stuff!

Thing#2:RSS
Okay,
So I signed up for the RSS on Google Reader. I also subscribed, so far, to some news feeds.
I 'm not too sure about this. I see how it can become addictive (I spent too much time looking at what's happening in the world - do I really WANT to know?)
I can see how it could be useful when following certain stories, keeping in touch with family and friends during both crises and happy times - sharing information and such. My problem is how much time can be taken out of my life just to know what is happening, unless I have a real reason to be looking for stuff.
In my Library life I can see using this to help keep up with trends and such. In my personal life, not so much. Of course, I'm just beginning and there's sure to be more to it than the little I've experienced so far. While I've not found anything to share YET, I will probably browse more and add subscriptions when there is something interesting - at least for a while.
Well, now it's time for a catnap - Meow . . .purrrrrr

Thing #1: Blogs (or the cat scratches)
Meowww - I'm on, I have somewhere to verbally HISSSSSSSssssss!
This was not easy, I'll have to sharpen my claws so I can add to this at a faster rate.
Over the years I've added to other's blogs, read blogs, commented on other's thoughts ... and even had my own for a while, but then I got busy with other things and let it go.
This is a great way to communicate when someone is not at the Library and you need to share information. Team blogs are great for doing book reviews (Like Bloggerbookclub) for kids, or sharing family news, pictures, and adventures. A Blog needs to have purpose to survive. Let's see how long I last this time.
